Did you know Nigeria used to have another national anthem. No, not the second verse of Arise O Compatriots. This one was called Nigeria, We Hail Thee” - was adopted from 1960 to 1978. So this is the song (or at least an excerpt of the song) that was sung 52 years ago, when we first gained independence from her majesty the Queen of England.
