Luanda is the capital and largest city of Angola. The city is situated to the north of Porto Amboin off the South Atlantic Ocean. Luanda has an estimated population of 4.5 million people.
The city is one of the oldest capitals in Africa having been founded in 1575 and developing as a key port on the south-west African coast.
