Beira is one of the key cities in Mozambique and is the second largest after Maputo. The city is home to more than half a million people. The city is situated along the country’s coastline in the Province of Sofala.
Beira was one of the key strongholds of the RENAMO movement which fought against the government. The city is served by the Beira International Airport.
Beira is home to some of the best beaches in the country. The city once flourished and was home to a key port prior to the civil war.
