Malindi

Malindi is an important tourism city in the Kenyan Coast. The City is the administrative capital of Malindi District. The city has a rich multi-cultural population which includes a rich mix of Italian, Arab and Swahili people.

Tourism is the main economic activity in Malindi and the city has a number of good hotels, casinos, nightclubs, restaurants, bars and resorts. The beaches and marine parks are the main attractions in the city.

Interesting places to visit include: the Malindi and Watamu Marine Parks, Gedi Ruins, Arabuko Sokoke Forest, local craft markets, the Crocodile farm and the Pillar of Vasco da Gama.

Malindi can be reached from Mombasa by road. The City is served by the Malindi Airport and Kenya Airways flies here regularly from Mombasa and Nairobi.
