Merzouga is a tiny village in southeastern Morocco, situated about 35 kilometres southeast of Rissani, about 55 kilometers from Erfoud, and about 50 kilometers from the Algerian border. Widely known for its proximity to Erg Chebbi, a Saharan erg, the village gives tourists a taste of desert life. Ride a camel and bask in sunsets across the windswept dunes of Erg Chebbi and marvel at its mysterious beauty. Also, a trek to nearby villages will let you experience African music and dance.

Arrange a guided tour that will take you to the stunningly beautiful Merzouga Dessert, where you can witness some of the most beautiful sunset and sunrise or simply lie down in the dunes and gaze at the star-filled night sky. You can ride a camel or a bike and experience Arabic-African culture and all of its splendor.

Interact with locals and witness how they live by visiting the Khamlia Village. Youll get to watch and learn how the locals prepare home-made bread and cous-cous or tagines and eat with them and drink Berber whiskey tea. You can even pitch a tent and enjoy your dinner at the campfire while listening and dancing to Gnawa music.
